From Medical to Merch

Next Practice Deakin is a modern medical clinic focused on delivering a New Kind of Care. Care that is focused on wellness, care that is enabling, coordinated, compassionate, respectful, comprehensive and responsive to individual needs. Prestantia Health is Next Practice Deakin’s sister company, delivering health consultancy services to private and government sectors.

For a charity walk supporting dementia awareness, I created branded t-shirts for the combined Next Practice Deakin and Prestantia Health team. The design was intentionally understated, aiming to foster unity among participants while subtly amplifying brand presence in a non-commercial, values-aligned environment.

What?

The goal was to express brand presence in a way that felt authentic, human, and values-led. Rather than treating the event as a marketing opportunity, the approach was to show up meaningfully designing something that fostered team pride, communicated unity, and reflected clinic’s commitment to community and care.

Why?

I worked with Next Practice’s existing identity, particularly colours and tone of voice, but it was important to tailor certain elements to suit the circumstances; text that can be read from a distance, bold graphics that would hold up in motion, and humour that reflected the team’s energy. The final line—“An apple a day keeps the doctor away. We’re here if the apple doesn’t cut it”—struck a balance between playful and relatable yet approachable and reassuring.
